| Mark Our Words was asked by Sister Katlheen Cummins, the principal at Holy Name of Jesus School where Jessica attends, to design and produce 40 special order bookmarks to be given as a memento for a School Improvement Program luncheon held November 9, 2007.
We choose a light blue card stock and hand cut the top and bottom of each bookmark. The front was hand lettered by Jessica in blue marker and since these were a school theme, decorated with school stickers and their school mission statement copied on a blackboard and pasted on each. On the back, Jessica hand printed her name, age and 2007. Our label was then placed at the bottom of each bookmark along with an achievement sticker that I, her mom, put on in honor of Jessicas hard work. Bookmarks were hand laminated. |

Mark Our Words was asked by Holy Name of Jesus Parish Pastor, Fr. Gavin J. Badway to design 1000 bookmarks for a special gift for Mothers Day in May 2007 and 1000 bookmarks for Fathers Day in June 2007 for the parents of the parish.
The idea was to (at the schools expense) provide all the materials needed to make the bookmarks and have the school children in the upper grades each make a few bookmarks, decorate them, sign their names, age and year on the back. Yellow, light blue and light orange card stock was purchased and cut into 3" x 8 ?" strips and hand trimmed at the top and bottom. Stickers were selected and special ordered. A poem and a psalm was typed, then copied on the color paper of the bookmark and hand glued on the fronts and back of each bookmark. They were then given to the art teacher at school and she instructed the children what to do. Bookmarks were laminated at a printing company. Click here to read thank you letter.
